Describe your journey to AMCL and the opportunities provided since arrival?
I was working in the transportation sector when I became aware of AMCL through their work with one of my existing clients. When a colleague of mine joined AMCL we started exploring teaming opportunities, and then eventually I was invited to join the company. My previous work experience had only been with very large companies, so working for a small consultancy has represented a very big and welcome change of pace. It is gratifying to feel that my personal contribution can really influence the business. As Operations Director, I get to play a major role in shaping the US business regarding staffing, client outreach, finances, and strategic planning, all of which I find both challenging and fun.
What do you most enjoy about working at AMCL?
I am very proud to be a part of a consultancy that is truly best in class. Our reputation for high-quality work precedes us, and our clients regularly refer us to peers in their industry. This serves as constant inspiration for continuing to deliver to this standard in order to maintain our reputation. Also, I really enjoy the close-knit feel of our team and the collaborative nature of how we work.
How are you helping AMCL clients to make infrastructure more valuable?
The US infrastructure market is enormous, with a wide range in levels of sophistication from our clients. Some organizations already have mature Asset Management programs and want us to help them improve a specific program or activity, while others are just starting on their journey. We are happy to meet clients where they are and develop a customized approach that serves their particular needs. We recently helped a client establish a process for prioritizing assets which was then incorporated into their capital planning process. Our support facilitated a better decision-making process and wiser investments in the future.
