"AMCL is always striving to improve and grow, so being at part of a team that consistently strives for innovation is exciting and motivating."

Describe your journey to AMCL and the opportunities provided since arrival?

I joined AMCL as a graduate after completing my BSc in Environmental Geography. Prior to joining in 2019, I had little exposure to Asset Management so joining as a graduate allowed me to quickly learn about the field across a wide range of projects and clients. Since joining, I’ve worked across most of AMCLs products and services with a primary focus on assessments and strategy development. AMCL has provided me with many opportunities to learn and develop through a combination of internal and external training as well as developing practical experience on my work across an interesting range of projects.

What do you most enjoy about working at AMCL?

I enjoy the variety of the types of projects and clients I am able to work with. The variety has helped me develop me deepen my own knowledge and therefore provide better advice and solutions to our clients. We have a great team, all of whom have a wealth of experience and knowledge so the opportunity to work closely with such knowledgeable colleagues keeps my work engaging and has really helped me in my own development. AMCL is always striving to improve and grow, so being at part of a team that consistently strives for innovation is exciting and motivating.

How are you helping AMCL clients to make infrastructure more valuable?

Many of AMCL’s clients are faced with potential challenges leading to asset management sometimes feeling silo’d within an organisation. This may result in organisations struggling to reach their potential in regards to their asset management objectives. Having developed a focus in assessments and strategy development, I particularly enjoy trying to solve this challenge of silo’d organisations. I enjoy working with a client to understand not only the state of their asset management activities, but also the wider organisational culture. I believe that understanding what makes an organisation tick is a key component to ensuring that improvement opportunities not only are appropriate to the organisational context, but that by working with the organisation culture, these improvements will be better embedded and more successful in the long term.
