AMCL offered me an incredible opportunity to spend two years in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
Those two years flew by and came to an end in April. After taking a short break for an amazing honeymoon, I was warmly welcomed back by the UK team in June. It’s been fantastic to return home to family, reconnect with familiar faces, meet new colleagues, and enjoy the green landscapes that I missed so much!
This experience was a great experience broadening my horizons, exposing me to new cultures, and giving me a fresh perspective on different ways of working.
One of the greatest privileges since returning has been leading the AMCL Graduate 2025 cohort. Working with three exceptionally bright and talented individuals and supporting their development has been a highlight of my return.
Another noticeable change has been the pace of work in the UK. I thought Saudi was intense, but major UK infrastructure clients are equally demanding driving outcomes with a strong focus and positive energy. While the challenges differ, they remain just as complex, and adjusting to this new rhythm has been an exciting learning curve.
Although I miss the team in Saudi and the daily sunshine, it’s to be back home and part of the UK team. After a few months of settling in, I’m embracing new responsibilities and challenges, and confident the future for our team is bright!
