Describe your journey to AMCL.
I began my career in 1992 as a civil engineer and worked on the design, construction, and project management of major water supply projects across Scotland before moving into Scottish Water’s Asset Management group in 2003. Over the next five years, I was responsible for leading the development and implementation of Asset Management practices across Scottish Water – mainly focused on asset risk management, investment prioritization, and PAS 55 alignment. I relocated to Calgary, Canada in 2008 and have primarily worked as an Asset Management Consultant with CH2M and Jacobs. I was involved in a broad range of major Asset Management initiatives for both municipal and private sector organizations across Canada and the US, and I have also been a lead trainer for IAM Endorsed Certificate training courses since 2015.
Overall, I bring with me over 30 years of combined experience, with 10 years in civil engineering and 20 years in Asset Management.
What have you been working on recently?
I have worked with major public sector organizations including the Cities of Calgary, Edmonton, Ottawa, Winnipeg and Regina and the BC Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure. I have also worked with power companies such as Enmax Energy Corporation and with Transit organizations such as Metrolinx. This has involved a range of topics including maturity assessments, asset risk, investment planning, policy and strategy, Asset Management plans, and asset data improvements.
We are thrilled to welcome Paul to the team. His reputation precedes him, as he is well-known and respected across the discipline. Looking forward to his valuable contributions and insights across all our market offerings and commissions.
