“Simply put, I feel valued”

Describe your journey to AMCL and the opportunities provided since arrival?

I started off in the UK Water back when the most powerful computer was a 486. I had an incredible first 6 years working on the South West Water Clean Sweep Programme, where asset data was an issue and millions of pounds were spent on data collection exercises to feed the models… sound familiar?  When I moved to Anglian Water, being client side is where the bug for ‘ability to invoke change’ really took hold and my move into business transformation with a technical twist was a natural progression.

I have been fortunate to work on some of the largest Asset Management Transformation Programmes throughout my 19 years in the UK including Thames Water Operational Management Centre a truly memorable programme working hand in hand with the Client team.  Then the adventurer in me came out to play and off to the Middle East for a few years and then over to North America for an amazing experience working for a big 5, Accenture, on InforEAM Programmes with Transit Clients in Toronto and New York. However, I felt drawn back to Dubai and AMCL seemed the perfect fit for a second tour of duty, to follow my passion of helping asset intensive clients embrace the new and support them to build competency from within.

What do you most enjoy about working at AMCL?

Simply put – I feel valued.

I get to work with amazing colleagues across our geographies to problem solve, we challenge each other to drive value and benefit so that we continue to improve what we do and the services we offer our clients. It’s a great forum to share our war stories and successes and enable learning and personal development.

Plus we are building a great team in the Middle East hub, each of us are different – skills, knowledge, experience, backgrounds but we value and embrace that diversity. I can bring my authentic self to work.

How are you helping AMCL clients to make infrastructure more valuable?

We put the needs and challenges of our clients at the forefront of our engagements. We actively listen, we analyse and we drive the adoption of new ways of working through our ability to coach and be that trusted advisor.

We help our Clients navigate their organisational DNA to break down those artificial silos that can sometimes divide departments and hamper the success of any asset management improvement programme.

And best of all – we do not deliver cookie-cutter, vanilla outputs. We utilise a generational approach tailored to the needs and maturity of our clients so that their teams can own, adopt and continue to build on. We keep it real, sometimes with some tough love but we are committed to the success of our clients as we support them all the way on their asset management journey with us.
