Thames Estuary Asset Management 2100 (TEAM2100) is the Environment Agency’s ten-year programme to refurbish tidal flood defences in London and the Thames Estuary.
Jo Emberson-Wines – Deputy Director within the EA Major Project and Programme Delivery team and Senior Programme Director for the TEAM2100 Programme wrote in the July 2024 edition of the IAM’s Assets magazine about realising her Asset Management ambitions and the enduring relationship between TEAM2100 and AMCL.
AMCL have been tasked with the Management System Certification, Surveillance and Recertification cycle since 2017, which means we have certified TEAM2100 to ISO 55001 three times.
Jo speaks about the role of Asset Management as a driving force for the programme and building a mature, world class asset management system in many ways feels like creating a diamond and how AMCL has acted as a critical friend to help realise the power of continual improvement over the years of assessment and surveillance.
Participants across all functions have noted immediate benefits from the engagements as their enduring improvement plans continue to yield better Asset Management decision-making capabilities leading to better outcomes, such as reduced costs, managed risk and systematic delivery of corporate objectives.
